I am having no luck with changing/effecting transparency. Background color for menu item set to rgba(0,0,128,1) yields navy blue but any change to the 4th parameter be it .5 or 0.5 or 0.1 or .1 or even 0 does not effect opacity but changes the hue. I’m missing some point. WP 4.9.6 on a twenty seventeen child theme on a localhost.
    Thanks,
    dennis

    Hey Dennis,

I will need to see it on a live site to be able to advise on what’s happening.

If it’s not working as expected it’s likely that some other CSS on your site is overwriting it but as I say I can’t confirm without something to look at.

Also, please don’t forget that the menu and containers also have background colours so you will need to make them fully transparent too if you want transparent menu items.

    Please advise

Peter, Here’s what I’ve done…Ran Health Check plugin- no effect. Changed Theme to plain TwentySeventeen – no effect, deactivated all plugins and no custom css on plain TwentySeventeen -no effect (by that I mean no change still no transparency). I didn’t mention that this a multisite on localhost. This is a family intranet site and will not be on the public internet. So I’m stuck. Could I address directly with css?
    Thanks for the quick reply,
    dennis

    Hi Dennis,

Did you see my message about setting the container background colours to transparent too?

    Peter,
I changed container background and inner, menu background and submenu background to rgba(0,0,255,0.1). WP menu has seven top level menu choices the first is a home link back to start page, the others are custom links (#) to submenu choices. The home link and the submenu choices are now nicely transparent but the six top level choice remain as though set to rgba (0,0,255,0.1). I’m sure I not doing something.
    Thanks for you time,
    dennis

    Hey Dennis,

It’s quite hard to say without something to look at.

Maybe you could export your settings and send them to support@responsive.menu so I can import them and see if you are doing anything wrong.

    Please advise

    Peter
